Man...is it me or does it seem that Sony just absolutely can't do ANYTHING right lately. See also the ads that were pulled in Italy and the other ads that were removed in Philadelphia recently.

Even though those ads are in very poor taste in many different aspects, they got the deed done. Everyone will see those ads, and will talk about them. Hell, if Sony is lucky they may even get on national news.

I agree with all of your excellent points (especially the drastic turn in recent commercialism). I suppose it takes a lot to get the attention of the Average-ADHD-Joe these days...

Ah, much more tasteful than the original ad proposed, you know the one with Clan members carrying burning crosses running after a small group of black children emblazened with the slogan "White Is Your New Master".

I don't know about racism... but why can't Sony come up with good ads? First those retarded animated commercials, then the subtly true 'get rid of the PSP' commercial, and now this?

The white PSP ad was from the Netherlands. The other two ads (Italy and Philadelphia) did not mention the White PSP arrival. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Sony always has controversial ads. They had one where some guy had a crown of thorns with playstation symbols on them in Rome, I believe. I find it funny that they keep getting publicity over these ads which make them work like Sony wants.

In the location where this ad ran it isn't taken as rascist. It's just ply a bit of domination with the implication of upcoming 'hot girl-girl action.' If you've ever been to Amsterdam you'd see that this is a mild and understated way to draw attention to the advent of the white PSP with a bit of eroticism. This is a city where the red light district is a major tourist attraction.
